From 1926 to 1930 he attended the private school of Vojtech Erdélyi and Jozef Bokšay in Uzhhorod. He graduated from the Teacher Training Institute in Uzhhorod in 1931. In 1931 he participated in the founding of the Association of Fine Arts of Subcarpathian Russia and has been one of its leading figures ever since. In 1933 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (M. Švabinský). In 1936 he passed a professional exam in drawing, descriptive geometry and mathematics. The certificate was issued by the Royal Ministry of Culture and Education in Budapest. In 1937 he became a member of the Carpathian-Russian artists. The early work presents scenes from the life of the people. Typical are his Verkhovsky women, the Hucul national color, while respecting the color of both his teachers. After coming to Slovakia, he is interested in man and the country. He enriches his work with a poetic perspective. In the 1960s, he devoted himself more to graphics, woodcutting, drypoint, etching and lithography. Recent oil paintings are landscapes and figural compositions under the influence of folk art. In 1973, he was awarded the Merited Artist award
