The Omron 86R is a vintage, 1970s electronic calculator produced by the Omron Tateisi Electronics Co. Famous for its chunky, brightly colored plastic casing (often orange) and retro Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD), it is historically significant as the direct design precursor to the legendary Braun ET11 and ET66 calculators designed by Dieter Rams.
The Omron 86R is an arithmetic calculator with 8 digits precision and algebraic logic. It has 6 functions, 20 keys, and a VFD (vacuum fluorescent) display. The power source is 2xAA batteries. Available in orange, white or yellow.
