The focus is entirely on Joe Williams (who is backed by a standard four-piece rhythm section) Then 69, Williams had not lost a thing and his voice has rarely sounded stronger. This version of `Every Day I Have the Blues` is transformed into Miles Davis`s `All Blues,` Williams revives Eubie Blake`s `A Dollar for a Dime` and sounds wonderful on such songs as `Too Marvelous for Words,` `I Want a Little Girl` and `Roll `Em Pete.`
