Battle of the Planets (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン, Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman) is a Japanese-American-Australian animated television series. The series comprises 105 episodes, which aired between October 1, 1972, and September 29, 1974. Of the 85 episodes adapted into the `Battle of the Planets` version, only 65 were dubbed and broadcast in France in the early 1980s on TF1 `s `Les visiteurs du mercredi` program . The series` basic concept inspired live-action Super Sentai series . In France, the series was released, incomplete, on DVD and in a DVD box set by Déclic Images .

Plot

Five young people—Mark, Thierry, Princess, Matchstick, and Kipo—make up G-Force, which protects Earth. They primarily fight against the planet Spectra. Their spaceship, the Phoenix, piloted by Matchstick, can accommodate four smaller vehicles belonging to the other members of the group. It can also take the form of a firebird. This form allows it to escape even the most desperate situations.
