This collection includes twenty-four poems of the great ancient Chinese poet Chu Yuan (340-278 B.C.), which constitute all his extant works except Tien Wen (The Riddles). The English translation has been made from the Chinese Text edited by commentator Wang Yi of the Han dynasty, whle the interpretations are based on the modern Chinese translations of Kuo Mo-jo, who is an authority on Chu Yan studes and is himself a poet. This volume is published in commemoration of the two thousand two hundred and thirtieth anniversary of Chu Yuan`s tragic death.
