Relevance today
The first edition of Security Warrior was published in 2004. While some technologies and attack vectors discussed are now obsolete (e.g., WEP cracking and attacks against older Windows and UNIX systems), the book`s core concepts remain valuable for students and professionals. Many reviewers point out that its strength lies in explaining the fundamental mechanics and mindset of attackers rather than focusing on specific, quickly outdated tools.
