This is a delightful book, a travelogue rather than a pilot, giving the artist/author`s impressions of cruising through the Dutch canals in a steel motor yacht. To say it is beautifully illustrated would be an understatement. Using a clever balance of words and pictures, it captures the atmosphere of this unique environment, recording the history, architecture, nature, culture and lifestyle as they pass by, through sketches, reproductions of finely detailed watercolours and caricatures. If you haven`t been to Holland it will whet your appetite and provide a very good guide as to where to start.
