William Motter Inge (3. maj 1913 - 10. jun 1973) bio je američki književnik, najpoznatiji po kazališnim komadima čiji je motiv bila seksualna frustracija usamljenih protagonista. Na Ingeov opus je značajno uticao njegov alkoholizam, ali i priče koje je slušao odlazeći na sastanke Anonimnih alkoholičara. Godine 1953. je za svoju dramu Picnic osvojio Pulitzerovu nagradu, a za scenarij filma Sjaj u travi je nagrađen Oscarom. Posljednje godine života mu je obilježila depresija, te je izvršio samoubistvo trovanjem ugljičnim monoksidom.
