Ovo je originalni japanski poster za kultni naučnofantastični tokusacu (tokusatsu) film `The Mysterians` (`Ljudi sa planete tajni`) iz 1957. godine, koji je u Japanu objavljen pod originalnim naslovom `Chikyū Bōeigun` (地球防衛軍), što u prevodu znači `Odbrambene snage Zemlje`.

Režija: Film je režirao legendarni Iširo Honda (Ishirō Honda), poznat kao režiser originalnog filma Godzila (1954).

Specijalni efekti: Za vizuelne efekte bio je zadužen Eiđi Cuburaja (Eiji Tsuburaya), pionir japanskih specijalnih efekata i tvorac Ultramena.

Produkcija: Film je snimljen u produkciji čuvenog studija Toho Company i predstavlja njihov prvi naučnofantastični film snimljen u koloru i širokom `TohoScope` formatu, što je istaknuto na vrhu samog postera.

Radnja: Priča prati ujedinjene vojne snage Zemlje koje se bore protiv vanzemaljske rase zvane `Misterijanci`. Oni stižu na Zemlju nakon što je njihova matična planeta uništena, sa zahtevom da im se ustupi deo teritorije i pravo na brak sa ženama sa Zemlje kako bi spasili svoju vrstu od izumiranja. Film je takođe poznat po tome što se u njemu prvi put pojavljuje džinovski robotski kaiđu Moguera.

The Mysterians (Japanese: 地球防衛軍, Hepburn: Chikyū Bōeigun; lit. `Earth Defense Force`) is a 1957 Japanese epic science fiction film directed by Ishirō Honda, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Produced and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd., it is the first Honda-Tsuburaya collaboration filmed in both color and TohoScope, and stars Kenji Sahara, Yumi Shirakawa, Momoko Kōchi, Akihiko Hirata, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Susumu Fujita, and Takashi Shimura, with Haruo Nakajima and Katsumi Tezuka as Moguera. In the film, Earth`s defense forces unite to combat an extraterrestrial race that desires to intermarry with human women and settle on the planet.

Inspired by the success of big-budget science fiction films in Japan and the United States, Toho executives became keen on producing a science fiction epic of their own. Producer Tomoyuki Tanaka recruited science fiction writer Jōjirō Okami to develop the story, which Shigeru Kayama [ja] later adapted for Takeshi Kimura`s screenplay. Honda stated that three companies were involved in the film`s production, which was the most in any tokusatsu production that he directed.

The Mysterians was released theatrically in Japan on December 28, 1957, as a double feature with Sazae`s Youth. It was a box office success in Japan upon its release, earning ¥193 million against its ¥200 million budget during its original theatrical run, making it the tenth highest-grossing Japanese film of 1957, and leading Toho to produce two further space-themed science fiction epics: Battle in Outer Space (1959) and Gorath (1962). An English dub of the film was produced by RKO Radio Pictures and distributed in the United States by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on May 27, 1959, where it grossed $975,000 and reportedly received mostly positive reviews. Western film critics praised Tsuburaya`s special effects, but some criticized the plot as confusing and juvenile.

こちらは1957年に公開された、特撮SF映画の金字塔『地球防衛軍』（海外タイトル：`The Mysterians` / 旧ユーゴスラビア公開題：`Ljudi sa planete tajni`）の、当時物のオリジナル版日本映画ポスターです。

■ 監督：
オリジナル版『ゴジラ』（1954年）の監督として世界的に知られる、伝説の名匠・本多猪四郎。

■ 特殊技術（特撮）：
日本の特撮の開拓者であり、『ウルトラマン』の生みの親でもある円谷英二が視覚効果を担当。

■ 製作：
名門・東宝株式会社による製作。ポスター上部にも記載されている通り、東宝初のカラー作品であり、ワイド画面「東宝スコープ（TohoScope）」を採用した初の本格SF映画です。

■ ストーリー：
母星を失い地球へと飛来した宇宙人「ミステリアン」と、地球防衛軍との壮絶な戦いを描く。ミステリアンは地球の領土割譲と、種族存続のための地球人女性との結婚を要求。本作は、巨大ロボット怪獣「モゲラ」が初めて登場した作品としても非常に有名です。
