Greek mythology appears to me like a banquet, in the widest sense of the Greek word symposium: not an ordinary banquet (:What? Supper at Agathon`s?` Socrates is astonished when Aristodemus passes on the invitation to him, then how can`t wait to get there.) I am not even talking of an extraordinary feast, of a decadent orgy like Trimalchio`s feast in Petroniu`s Satyricon(not to mention Fellini`s film),but of a sort of intellectual tasting.
The word of Greek mythology is not a soothing word. And it need a lively book,like this one,so that we can better understand it and appreciate it more. Izuzetno vredna knjiga. Ne samo u pogledu Mitologije nego kao celokupan rad ozbirom da obiluje izvanrednim fotografijama mesta, svetilista,skulptura,vaza,fresaka, hramova, figura i figurina, likytosa, pitosa...sto je kvalifikuje i kao neku vrstu udzbenika za istoricare umetnosti i arheologe, sadasnje i buduce i na taj nacin nam priblizava,docarava i pojasnjava price o Bozanstvima i njihovom zivotu i delanju. U vezi svakoga Bozanstva,polu-bozanstva ili heroja se nalazi ili skulpura ili slika sa nekog predmeta ili friza tako da mi je tesko ovu knjigu svrstati samo u odeljak za mitologiju jer je ona mnogo vise od toga obzirom da se za pojasnjenje recimo Dedalusa i Pasifaje daje slika freske iz Pompeja, a isto i za Narcisa...Ovo je u isto vreme i katalog vaza,skultura, fresaka...

Savrseno uradjena i koncipirana knjiga.Potpuno nova i nije koriscena.
