The present volume refers to the military events that are the most noticeable among the many events that shaped the historical course of our people and nation. It is through these military events that liberty and independence from external threats was assured, thus making it possible to devote more efforts to other important areas of our lives.

The most important war actions, heroic and epic stuggles, political and diplomatic events related in any way to the military history of the nation, which constituted brilliant beacons of an internationally acclaimed course of insurmountable national and human splendor, were listed in chronological order and in summary form.

The presentation of the contents of this volume are broken down in three Parts:

Part I: This is the main part of the volume as includes the entries-events in chronological order and broken down by period of war from antiquity to the mod-ern era and thus constitutes the core of the historic material used in the compiling of the other two parts.

Part II: It is the byproduct of Part I as it includes the same material arranged in calendar order.

Part III: This ia also a byproduct of Part I as it includes the same material arranged geographically with areas both within and outside Greece`s modern day borders.
