- England under the Stuarts by George Macaulay Trevelyan (xxiv, 503 pp)

An authoritative history of English life under the Stuart monachs in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. With Appendices, Bibliography and Index. Covers the political, religious, social, cultural, military history of England from the time of James I through the Civil War and Restoration to the reign of Queen Anne.

***

- England in the Eighteenth Century by Roy Porter (xv, 528 pp);

In this boldly drawn portrait of eighteenth-century England, Roy Porter defines a nation from its princes to its paupers, from its metropolis to its smallest hamlet. The topics covered run the gamut, covering diet, housing, prisons, rural festivals, bordellos, plays, paintings, and work and wages. This text`s broad scope makes it a must-have for any lover of English history, or history in general. Written in a reader-friendly manner, it is the perfect companion book to any eighteenth-century novel, providing readers with a deeper understanding of the times.

***

- England in the Age of Improvement by Asa Briggs (xvi, (i), 498 pp);

This book has long established itself as a classic of modern historical writing. Widely read and quoted it has had a unique influence on teaching and research. The book stresses both the underlying unity and the rich variety of the age, and raises fundamental issues about a period of crucial change in British history - industrialisation, war, constitutional change and the attitudes of politicians towards it, political development, and, not least, society and culture. In the background are the new economic powers based on the development of a coal and iron technology; in the foreground, new social and political problems and new ways of tackling them.

The chapters are: Economy & Society in the 1780s; Politics & Government on the Eve of the French Revolution; The impact of war; The politics of transition; Reform; Social Cleavage; Britain & the World Overseas; The Balance of Interests; Victorianism; The Leap in the Dark.

***

- Victorian England by G.M. Young (xxii, 546 pp);

This brilliant and evocative book is now widely regarded as the greatest single study of the age in any language. The late George Kitson Clark characterized it as `an historical essay of unique interest and importance.` The allusive nature of the Portrait recently sent a few dozen scholars scurrying under the guidance of Kitson Clark, to hunt down and verify its numerous references and quotations. Their exhaustive efforts have unearthed a few minor blemishes, but these fail to detract from the book`s overall brilliance.

***

- Edwardian England by Elie Halevy (xviii, 535 pp);

The years leading up to the First World War saw English self-confidence eroded by the defiant actions of the Trade Unions, the Suffragettes and the Irish patriots, and by a series of ugly diplomatic incidents. Halevys history is an outstanding account of the age. Introduced by Felipe Fernandez-A rmesto. 60S pages & 32 pages of illustrations.

****

- England 1914-1945 by A.J.P. Taylor (xxxiv, 638 pp);

During ten of the 31 years between 1914 and 1945 the English people were involved in world wars; for 19 of the years they lived in the shadow of mass unemployment. These themes and the politics which sprang from them shape the narrative of this book.

LIČNO PREUZIMANJE:
Lično preuzimanje me deranžira i oduzima mi više vremena od slanja poštom.

Ako vam takve stvari smetaju, pitajte me pre kupovine da proverim.

KOMUNIKACIJA:
Komunikacija ide isključivo preko Kupindo poruka, ne telefonom. Budite normalni.

POPUSTI, CENKANJE I SL.:

MOJA PONUDA:
Nove knjige postavljam gotovo svaki dan. Možete ih pratiti na ovom linku http://www.limundo.com/Clan/ndi (pritisnite dugme `Prati`)

SUSEDNE ZEMLJE I INOSTRANSTVO:

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
I will send abroad. For your calculation, one hundred dinars roughly equals $1. Please register here:
