This volume is the work of two authorities and ardent admirers of Warsaw, Edward Falkowski and Olgierd Budrewicz, both Varsovians, as the residents of Warsaw are sometimes called.
Edward Falkowski, a leading photographer, is responsible for the pictures of Warsaw as it was in 1945 --a unique document of the life of the city populatioin among the ruins. He also has taken the colour pictures which depict the life of Varsovians today (1960-70).
These portraits of the people of Warsaw as the appeared at the end of the war and as they appeared in the 60`s - 70`s are accompanied by a text by Olgierd Budrewicz, writer and publicist and author of a number of books about Warsaw. Mr. Budrewicz has also selected the pictures and arranged them in a lucid and deeply moving story about `Homo Varsoviensis`.
