59608) PRINCIPLES OF BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY , J. F. Ashby ; D.I. Edwards ; P. J. Lumb ; J. L. Tring ; Blackwell Scientific Publications Oxford and Edinburgh 1971 ; Osnove biohemije
This book is primarily aimed at students taking the Ordinary National Certificate in sciences with the elective subjects of medical laboratory science or biology. Students taking the Ordinary National Diploma course in science with elective medical laboratory science or entering directly for Higher National Diploma courses in medical laboratory subjects or applied biology will also find this book valuable. It should also provide a foundation for the chemistry with biochemistry sections of Part II of the City and Guilds 119 science laboratory technicians` course. Principles rather than collections of facts have been emphasized throughout, and the book has been tailored for students who see little relevance to chemistry in their biological studies. After an introductory chapter which is intended for students with little chemical background, the material falls into four parts: atomic and molecular structure with a general survey of the elements; separation, purification and measurement; a general consideration of chemical equilibrium and reactions; organic chemistry emphasizing the biological aspects.
