This is a great little book about Rhode Island. Evocative photographs, and elegantly written by Roger vaughan, who really got it right. It would have been easy for Vaughan to have gotten overly sentimental, given the nature of the photographs, but he let them speak for themselves -- which they do extremely well -- and added just the right combination of fact, humor, and whimsy to pull the whole thing together.
