The Admiral`s Cup is a British event which draws yachtsmen from all over the world. National teams of three offshore boats have been racing from Cowes since 1957 over inshore courses in and around the Solent and further offshore, culminating in the famous Fastnet Race. Held every other year, the series has enjoyed expansion of stature and prestige and is regarded as ocean racing`s unofficial world championship. Since 1987, it has enjoyed the support of Champagne Mumm. Every modern professional, from Eric Taberly to Chris Dickson and Lawrie Smith, have served their time aboard Admiral`s Cuppers.
