The catalogue `Yugoslavia Wine Country` has been conceived as a regular publication intended for experts, writers on wine, salesmen and lovers of good wines all over the world.

The desire of the publishers is to provide relevant information on Yugoslav wines and to assist potential buyers in making the right choice. Though an important market supplier, Yugoslavia has done little to promote its wines. The need for reliable information has been felt for many years and the interest aroused by the first two editions of the Catalogue fully justified their publication. Since the second edition came off the press in 1984, there have been many changes.

Some wine brands have disappeared from the market, some have retained their position while some are only just making their way to the world markets. While preparing this edition we did our best to collect as much current information on wines as possible, on their accessibility, their producers, suppliers and exporters. Still, shortcomings are always possible, so we would be grateful for any suggestions that might be helpful for future editions.

We should like to express our gratitude to the producers and particularly the importers of Yugoslav wines for responding to our request and sending us the labels and data we needed. The catalogue `Yugoslavia Wine Country` represents only one aspect of the marketing activities of Yugoslav wine producers and exporters and we shall be most satisfied if it proves useful in promoting knowledge about Yugoslav wines and increasing demand for them as they certainly deserve.
