John Pizzarelli made his recording debut at age 19 on this set of guitar duets performed with his 53-year-old father Bucky Pizzarelli. Both Pizzarellis play seven-string guitars on the date, forming their own little orchestra. In addition to swing standards, they explore such numbers as Stephen Sondheim`s `Pretty Women,` Chick Corea`s `Spain,` a couple of obscurities and Carl Kress` `Sutton Mutton.` Although Bucky was clearly the better of the two guitarists at this point, the combination works very well on this LP.
