This is the one and only edition of these illustrations.
The English text is accompanied by the foreword and comments in Russian.
The author of foreword is Dmitry Urnov (р. 1936) – literary critic and Shakespearean scholar, he wrote books about J. Joyce, D. Defoe and Ch. Dickens. Here he tried to acquaint readers with L. Carroll`s, with historical era in which he created, his travel to Russia and features of the language of the book. Evgenii Shukaev (1932-1988) was the prominent cartoonist in Soviet satirical magazine `The Crocodile`.
This is the one and only edition of these illustrations.
The Illustrated Alice doesn’t notice this edition.
