Once upon a time in The `80s, a Muslim professor at Southwest Missouri State University grew disgruntled with Islam`s portrayal in American history books and classrooms. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he began work on a historically accurate novel that describes Islam history and its ideology. This was the result.

Concept of Islam attempts to effectively analyze the core tenets of the religion and their effects on its followers and history. The book begins with the history of the pre-Islamic world, Muhammad and his life before the revelation, and Muhammad`s religious and physical struggle to unite the Arabian peninsula under the banner of Islam.

However, this is just a portion of the book as most of it is dedicated to the concept of Islam. In a way, it can be seen as a Muslim`s handbook on following this religion.
