`Divorce is a sign of pernicious moral decadence... A PAPAL DISCOURSE

`If I could exercise in law the same discretion about motives and states of mind which I exercise in the confessional, I could wipe half the marriage cases off my books overnight! A ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP

A Catholic novelist and an Anglican writer join forces to expose what they claim to be `a scandal of large dimensions` in the Roman Catholic, Church.
The case they make is that many of the marriage laws in the Roman Catholic Code of Canon Law are bad laws and that the administration of these laws through the marriage tribunals of the Roman Catholic Church fails to dispense either natural justice or Christian charity.
Their plea, passionate and closely reasoned, is for immediate reforms in accordance with traditional Christian tolerance.
Their challenge to the Roman Catholic Assembly is a blunt one: Refute the complaints or reform the laws.
