A comprehensive atlas of China as it was administered in 1983. The initial section includes 51 colour maps of 22 provinces (including the claimed, although not administered, Taiwan, but not Hainan, which became a province the year after publication), 3 cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin) and 5 autonomous regions. Many of the maps are double page and all finely detailed. This is followed by 174 pp. gazetteer listing cities, towns and other features, in Hanyu Pinyin Romanization and Chinese characters, providing map numbers and coordinates to aid location.
