- `Although this book is dated. I first read it over 40 years ago, it is a fascinating look behind the curtain as to how the life insurance industry functioned in the 1970`s. Although most life insurance purchases have shifted from whole to term life insurance and the industry has had to evolve new products like reverse mortgages and annuities to continue to survive, the practices outlined in the book still survive. The key characteristic of the industry remains to undertrain the sellers of their products so that they can continue to sell the wrong products, with a clear conscience, to unknowledgeable purchasers. The industry continues to flood the TV waves so that they can continue to sell products with higher markups to unsuspecting consumers.`
