However, the band`s signing to RCA Records and its 1982 hit `Theme From Harry`s Game` catapulted it to the top of the UK pop charts. Most importantly, Clannad was one of the first Irish bands to truly delve into ambient music, an idiom that may be the modern counterpart to the traditional slow air.This 1984 release finds Clannad at the height of its career. LEGEND is essentially the soundtrack to the television show, ROBIN OF SHERWOOD, and opens with the theme music, `Robin (The Hooded Man).` Other songs such as `Herne` and `Now is Here` retain the ambient (soaking wet with reverb) sound, though the theme for `Lady Marian` harks back to more traditional harp music. While the `80s synths are dated-sounding, most of the music here represents Irish pop at its fines
